Chuck Whitman’s Career Trading Options

Charles “Chuck” Whitman is a highly experienced trader and authority on options trading and money management. He began his journey in the trading world at the age of 17, focusing on options. By 22, he was trading options full-time. Over his extensive 30-year career, Whitman has trained over 200 traders to trade options full-time and has established one of the largest option market-making operations in the United States. His unique approach emphasizes the practical application of strategies rather than textbook theories.

In 2013, Whitman founded Whitman Capital Management, where he serves as the senior portfolio manager, overseeing research, trading, and business development. Prior to this, he co-founded and was CEO of Infinium Capital Management from 2003 to 2012. Under his leadership, Infinium grew significantly, expanding from a seven-person team to over 250 employees and achieving annual revenues of $200 million by 2008.

Whitman’s experience includes membership in the Chicago Board of Trade since 1992, as well as memberships in the CME Group, Chicago Board Options Exchange, and Minneapolis Grain Exchange. He also played a key role in Blink Trading, which was sold to GETCO in 2002. Throughout his career, Whitman has been dedicated to helping traders narrow their focus and improve their performance, especially in trading momentum stocks.
