Affiliate Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the Van Tharp Institute Affiliate Program. These terms and guidelines outline the rules, expectations, and best practices for all affiliates. By joining and participating in our affiliate program, you agree to follow the terms below.

1. Overview

The Van Tharp Institute Affiliate Program is designed to reward partners who refer customers to our trading courses, workshops, and home study programs. To ensure the program runs fairly and maintains our brand integrity, all affiliates must comply with the following guidelines.

2. Commission Structure

  • Affiliates earn up to 10% commission on qualifying purchases.
  • Commissions are calculated after discounts, refunds, or chargebacks.
  • Payouts are issued monthly, with up to a 90-day hold period to allow for refunds and verification.

3. Payment Terms

  • Payouts are made via PayPal or another pre-approved method.
  • A minimum balance of $100 and a minimum of two sales are required before payouts are issued.
  • Affiliates are responsible for providing accurate payment details.

4. Prohibited Practices

To protect our brand reputation and ensure fair promotion, the following practices are strictly prohibited:

a. Bidding on Branded Terms

You may not bid on any branded search terms in paid advertising campaigns. This includes but is not limited to:

  • “Van Tharp”
  • “Van Tharp Institute”
  • “Van Tharp courses”
  • “Vantharpinstitute.com”
  • Misspellings or close variations of the above

This applies to Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads, and other pay-per-click (PPC) platforms.

Violating this policy will result in immediate termination from the affiliate program and forfeiture of any unpaid commissions.

b. Misleading Claims

Affiliates may not make exaggerated or false claims about Van Tharp Institute products, such as:

  • Promising guaranteed trading profits
  • Implying endorsement by third parties without consent
  • Misrepresenting course content or outcomes

c. Cookie Stuffing & Spam

  • No use of cookie stuffing scripts or methods
  • No unsolicited email (spam) marketing
  • No forced redirects or misleading URLs

5. Branding & Content Usage

  • You are only allowed to use the affiliate links and materials provided in your affiliate dashboard.
  • You may not alter Van Tharp Institute logos, images, or content without written permission.
  • All promotional content must accurately represent our courses and mission.

6. Traffic Sources Allowed

You are welcome to promote your affiliate link through:

  • Personal websites or blogs
  • Social media accounts (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
  • Email newsletters (to your own subscribers)
  • Online trading communities or forums (as long as they are compliant with forum rules)

Note: All traffic must be from legitimate, human visitors. Use of bots or incentivized clicks is not allowed.

7. Termination and Account Review

Van Tharp Institute reserves the right to review, approve, or terminate any affiliate account at our sole discretion. Common reasons for termination include:

  • Violating these guidelines
  • Inactivity for more than 6 months
  • Using deceptive marketing tactics

8. Updates to Terms

These affiliate terms may be updated from time to time. Affiliates will be notified via email or in the affiliate dashboard. Continued participation in the program constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
