Bid-ask Spread

The spread market makers offer to potential investors who want to open a position with them. Typically, this spread is how the market makers make their profit. If you want to sell, you’ll get the lower price (that is, the market maker’s bid price), and if you want to buy, you’ll get the higher price (that is, the market maker’s ask price).
